| Job Summary: |
| The Cost Estimator Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate project cost estimates by analyzing plans, specifications, and the scope of work, collaborating with engineering, construction, and procurement teams to evaluate labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs, and using estimating tools and historical data to ensure bids are competitive while supporting profitability and schedule goals. |
| Job Responsibilities: |
| – Prepare the Bill of Quantity in AWCC standard format.
– Prepare cost estimates and ensure appropriate materials and tools are available. – Evaluate and research all updated prices from Afghanistan and international markets – Prepare schedule/work plan for projects in MS Project or Primavera (P6) software. – Prepare some technical (submittals)documents for the construction project as required – Read and draft some sketches in auto cad or SketchUp software. – Authorize technical drawings and engineering plans. – Draw up work schedules and communicate any adjustments to crew members and clients. – Gather data, compile reports, and deliver presentations to the relevant team. – Delegate tasks and schedule meetings and training sessions where required. – Perform any other tasks assigned by the line manager. |
| Job Requirements: |
| – Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or a relevant field.
– Must have 2 to 3 years of relevant work experience (1 year’s experience for a master's degree). – Fluent in one of the local languages (Dari, Pashto) and English (written and spoken). – Must have good knowledge of computer programs. – Familiarity with relevant software, tools, and technology specific to the role. – A relevant certificate is an asset. – Demonstrates a strong work ethic. – Possesses excellent communication skills. – Upholds integrity and honesty. – Capable of performing well under pressure. – Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise during work. – Willingness to travel to other provinces and work additional hours. – Adheres to company rules and policies. |
