AFGHAN WIRELESS CELEBRATES ITS 14TH ANNIVERSARY IN A GLORIOUS MANNER

More Than 1500 Afghan Wireless, Bayat Group Executives, Staff and Public Officials Join Together In Kabul City To Celebrate The Company’s Tremendous Success, Innovation and Leadership

Kabul, Afghanistan—June 9, 2016—Afghan Wireless Communication Company (www.afghan-wireless.com), the nation’s first wireless communications company and the founder of Afghanistan’s wireless communications industry, celebrated fourteen years of providing the people of Afghanistan with fast, affordable, global-class communications services with a 14th Anniversary Gala and Awards Ceremony, held in Kabul on May 15, 2016. Performances by renown Afghan Artists Amir Jan Saboori and Shahzad Adeel, helped honor AWCC’s successful leadership of the Afghan Telecommunications industry.

AWCC’s 14th Anniversary theme, “14 Years of Spreading Smiles Across Afghanistan,” highlighted the Company’s proud and successful history of developing innovative and affordable Voice, Data, Internet and Mobile Payment Services which have connected Afghans to one another—and to the wider world.

In 2002, Afghan Wireless launched operations by providing wireless voice communications to 22,000 subscribers in three provinces. Today, AWCC provides rapid and reliable global-class Voice, Data, Internet and Mobile Payment Services to 4.2 million subscribers, located in all of Afghanistan’s thirty-four provinces. Afghan Wireless has invested more than $400,000,000 to develop Afghanistan’s largest and strongest wireless communications network. AWCC’s glorious Anniversary Celebrations were attended by more than 1500 individuals, including Mr. Amin Ramin; Managing Director of AWCC, Eng. Baryalai Husam; MCIT’s Technical Deputy, Dr. Mohammad Najib Azizi; ATRA Director, Qurban Haqjo; AISA Director, Khan Jan Alokozay; the Director and the members of the Transport and Telecommunications Commission of the Upper House, senior government officials and hundreds of employees from the Bayat Media Center, as well as AWCC’s Main and Regional Offices.

During the Anniversary program, AWCC Managing Director Amin Ramin, ATRA Director Qurban Haqjo and AISA Director Khan Jan Alokozay delivered speeches congratulating Afghan Wireless for its contributions to the Communications sector, as well as AWCC’s dedication to the economic development of Afghanistan.

AWCC ended its glorious Anniversary celebrations with the distribution of Letters of Appreciation and Special Awards to its employees. The awards and prizes included a Hajj trip fully sponsored by the company.
