AFGHAN WIRELESS DOUBLES SIZE OF 4G LTE NETWORK Immense Popularity of Company’s 4G LTE Service Drives Rapid Expansion

Kabul, Afghanistan — September 20, 2017 — Afghan Wireless Communication Company (AWCC) (www.afghan-wireless.com), the nation’s first mobile communications company, the founder of Afghanistan’s mobile communications market and a leading provider of voice, data, entertainment and mobile payment services to over 5,000,000 consumers and businesses, announced today that AWCC has doubled the capacity of the Company’s 4G LTE Network—the only 4G LTE Network operating in Afghanistan.

AWCC deployed the second phase of its 4G LTE transmission infrastructure, doubling the number of 4G LTE transmission points. These sites are positioned throughout Kabul city. AWCC will also continue its rapid, multi-province deployment of the Company’s 4G LTE service with the objective of providing 4G LTE Service throughout Afghanistan.  Additional major cities will come online during the next several months.

AWCC's decision to double the capacity of its 4G LTE service—just four months after deploying Afghanistan’s only 4G LTE Network—was driven by the surge in the usage of AWCC’s 4G LTE capacity by the Company’s subscribers. The immediate and sustained popularity of AWCC's 4G LTE service is a powerful endorsement of AWCC’s strategy of implementing a robust and sustained expansion of AWCC’s 4G LTE offering.

“The doubling of the size and capacity of AWCC’s 4G LTE network, demonstrates that the demand from Afghans for world-class communications is immediate—and that the market for advanced, high-speed communications services will continue to expand rapidly,” said Mr. Amin Ramin, AWCC’s Managing Director. “AWCC, as Afghanistan’s only provider of 4G LTE communications services, is determined to expand our leadership within this promising sector for many years to come.”
