AFGHAN WIRELESS RECEIVES ‘BEST LARGE TAXPAYER’ AWARD FROM AFGHANISTAN’S MINISTRY OF FINANCE

Award Recognizes AWCC’s Commitment To Business Integrity And Company’s Powerful, Positive Contribution To Afghanistan’s Economic Development

Kabul, Afghanistan — May 1, 2017 — Afghan Wireless Communication Company (AWCC) (www.afghan-wireless.com), the nation’s first mobile communications company, and the founder of Afghanistan’s mobile communications sector, announced today that The Afghan Ministry of Finance (MoF), has conferred its most prestigious award upon AWCC, declaring that Afghan Wireless Communication Company is Afghanistan’s Best Large Taxpayer within the nation’s Telecommunications Sector.

AWCC is the only telecommunications company in history to receive this award from the Ministry of Finance. The award was given to AWCC, in recognition of the Company’s commitment to conducting its business operations with integrity and honesty, and AWCC's positive, powerful and vital contribution to Afghanistan’s economic development.

H.E. Abdul Sattar Murad, the Afghan Minister of Economy, presented the Ministry of Finance’s Best Large Taxpayer Award to Mr. Amin Ramin, the Managing Director of Afghan Wireless, at a May 1, 2017 ceremony, held at Kabul’s Intercontinental Hotel. H.E Sattar Murad noted that tax compliance by all sectors of Afghan industry, “…has a significant role in revenue increment, and funding infrastructure projects.”
